History of Success

Esther O’Toole has represented the interests of Catholic children and parents since 1991. Celebrating 14 years as Trustee for Wards 9 & 10.

Esther O’Toole is very proud of her consistent attendance at board and committee meetings. She has served in various capacities on all standing committees and twice elected Vice Chair of the board. The board has elected her again to be a Director for the Ontario Trustee Association. She is the current chair of Contract Negotiations (Local bargaining). An experienced Trustee who has seen the history of negotiation group in our board over the past 23 years. Salaries make up 88% of our budget. It is important to have proven leaders who do not have conflict of interest sit on our board. Esther is also the Chair of the Audit Committee which oversees financial accountability of the Board Budget.

Esther O’Toole has worked hard with the Board of Trustees to bring balanced budgets through tough times.  As one of the largest boards in Ontario, Esther and her fellow DPCDSB trustees are proud to bring a balanced budget in 2014.

Esther O’Toole prides herself on her record of helping parents and students through difficult situations. Her work with parents of special needs children has gained her respect from professionals who work with these students. Esther’s efforts as chair of SEAC (Special Education Advisory Committees) have helped many parents. She is always responsive, empathetic, and respectful of the confidentiality needed to work behind the scenes to get results.

Through four Premiers and 11 Ministers of Education, Esther has been a proven leader for our community.
